THE UNSUNG HERO AWARDS PROGRAM
UnSung Hero will be postponed until 2010 due to recent merger of our main sponsor Patuxent Publishing, with the Baltimore Sun.
We appreciate your interest and look forward to recognizing your outstanding service next year.

An Unsung Hero is a student who: • Donates energy, time or resources for community causes • Goes beyond expectations in an inspirational and positive manner • Inspires and supports other youth • Enriches the arts in our community • Overcomes great obstacles to live life to the fullest and inspires others to meet challenges
In every classroom around the country, there are students who are doing great deeds, often unnoticed. The Creig Northrop Team and Patuxent Publishing Company want to change this by recognizing 12 students from area high schools for their contributions in music, art, theatre, sports and especially their good works. These 12 Unsung Heroes will be featured in full-page congratulatory ads in local Patuxent Publishing Newspapers as “Unsung Heroes.”
The Creig Northrop Team will host a reception honoring the 12 students.
- The 1st place winner will receive $1,000 and a trophy.
- The 2nd place winner will receive $500 and a trophy.
- The 3rd place winner will receive $250 and a trophy.
- The remaining 9 finalists will each receive $100 and a plaque.
