2006 UNSUNG HEROES CHOSEN
Each year, choosing 12 finalists from among the many amazing Howard and Caroll County high school student nominees is difficult, as each and every nominee contributes so much to their schools, peers, and communities. The 2006 Unsung Heroes will be named at a private ceremony on May 3rd.
We appreciate the outpouring of nominations we received from principals, teachers, coaches, administrative staff, counselors, and parents. Your continuing participation and support allows us to continue to recognize the many outstanding students in our community.

For most people, interpreting real estate ads can be a challenge. What do all those abbreviations mean? you wonder. To help unlock the mystery of real estate ads, we have compiled a list of abbreviations and terms to help "break the code" so you can find out what those ads really mean.

COMMON TERMS
Built-ins = built-in bookshelves
Cathedral = Ceiling that meets in a reverse "V" at the top
En Suite Bathroom = integrated bathroom
Gourmet Kitchen = kitchen with a double wall oven
Jack & Jill = dual entry bathroom
Suite = bedroom with a separate sitting room
Vaulted = ceiling that is slanted at an angle on one side only
