CAPITAL REGION In 1791 Maryland donated the land that is now Washington DC. We have truly benefitted greatly from that generous gift and our 3 counties that border Washington DC are heavily explored by the thousands of tourists that visit the capital each year. Tourism is big in the counties of Frederick, Mongomery and Prince George's counties. This region is loaded with history and historical places to see. Our State and National Parks located here in this region offer hiking, biking, horseback riding trails and other recreational options for tourists and visitors. There are restaurants, shopping and other entertainment throughout the region.
SOUTHERN MARYLAND Back in 1634, 140 Europeans arrived to settle the colony that would be named Maryland. Here, you will find the best bass fishing anywhere on the East Coast, that along with the Chesapeake Bay, the Patuxent and Potomac rivers, you have many popular spots for the boating enthusiasts. It’s where you’ll find a number of tiny waterside resorts that beckon to travelers eager to abandon their cares.
EASTERN SHORE Here in this region, where the beach resort of Ocean City is located, there is a level of hospitality that makes it easy to understand why Maryland is considered a Southern state. The residents here are warm and welcoming and proud of their heritage and confident in the future. There is a leisurely type of lifestyle here that becomes more and more evident as you travel along its highways and waterways. This is the region of the famous blue crab, whose succulent meat is the key ingredient in many a feast and is a popular tourist attraction.
